Power steering
Power steering in the automotive
industry has evolved in the last few years
and differs between all manufacturers. The
general concept remains the same, which
is to make the operation of the vehicle
as comfortable and safe as possible. In
the early days, the power steering
system on cars was simple and made up of
a hydraulic power steering pump, which
via hydraulic pressures applied to the
steering box or steering rack, assisted
the driver in his actions. In cars today, electronics have taken over some of
the controls, or perhaps even replaced
the hydraulic system completely.
